ORANGE CULTURE AUTUMN/WINTER 2016 CAMPAIGN

First seen at the just concluded South Africa Menswear Fashion Week, Nigerian designer Adebayo Oke Lawal has unveiled his autumn/winter 2016 collection in a campaign which sees a selection of models shot by South African photographer Travys Owen in a beautiful South African scape.
Styled by Gabrielle Kannemeyer, Adebayo’s muses – Kwen, Samuel, Ronald and Kervwe lazy under the sun, clad in knitted pieces made of the brand’s namesake colour and a complimentary navy blue seen throughout the series of shots.

6780671The campaign was released exclusively on Pause Online, where Adebayo tells the magazine “I used to write for magazines [and] I wrote an article called the Orange Boy which was about growing up in Lagos and the experiences of being different, being bullied and just learning to accept yourself. Orange stood for the idea of being individual; just being unique and not caring about [what] anybody has to say.”

When I started the label, I wanted to represent just that idea of just being proud of who you are, being an individual, loving the things you love…
