This week has been a lot for me! Started off with preparations for one of my closest friend, Ama’s 25th birthday shoot on Monday, than her House Party planning on Wednesday, Mai Atafo’s lookbook shoot yesterday and a few events coming up this weekend.

Okay enough about a-week-in-the-life-of-Sharon. What are you up to this weekend? You dare to try a trend we said goodbye to a decade ago but is back for the brave hearted who want to make a punctuating statement?
Although the unconventional union of heels with socks re-emerging lately isn’t exactly news. In March 2015 Manolo Blahnik teamed up with Hosier Falke to create a collection of charming socks, and then Rihanna stepped up her sock game and partnered with Stance for a multiple seasons of signature women’s collection. Of late, stylish folks are catching on and giving the look a high-fashion twists.

  • Pair your heels with neutral colours or socks that are within the colour palette of your look.
  • Any length will do. But for a day look work/brunch/ pair a short anklet and for a night out you are wearing a mini skirt/dress/shorts, up the ante. Think knee high and longer options to not only create an illusion of a knee-high boot but to hide some skin.
  • You give you simple look some boldness and fun, try cute printed and bright socks
  • Remember, the more personality you add to any trend, the better it looks.
