“Happiness is not a feeling, it is a choice. To be happy, one must choose to be happy, not respond to a circumstance that now controls your happiness” – Joyce Meyer
If you follow me on Instagram, you will notice the past few days I’ve been preaching on happiness, the perks of having a positive attitude and taking hold of God’s promises.
We all have those days we wake up and start our day with a bad feeling, pray and hope it doesn’t mean anything, or we actually start our day with a positive attitude and before the day ends someone messes it up for us. Over the years, I’ve learnt to be at peace with God, be at peace with others and myself, and be led by peace in a way that I strive for calmness and those daily mental and emotional storms.
You too can stay happy and not let anything or anyone bother your peace of mind! Happiness is not “ready made” neither does it grow on trees that we can pluck anytime we like. It comes with your actions and simply deciding to look beyond imperfections. You choose to be happy by accepting yourself, what is, what you can’t change, letting go of the past and refusing to allow others project their unhappiness on you.
Happiness is truly a state of mind and we are all in the pursuit of happiness.
